Staying Positive During The Quarantine

I've used this time during quarantine to learn how to be positive and reflect on the actions I want to take to become the human and woman I want to be. When I was a small girl with minimal resources, I was my biggest hero and believed I could do anything. Over the years, I've sadly lost that because of the reality of society. Not everyone will value your worth, so that's why it's essential never to let yourself forget how big of a difference a small step a day can make. Every day, every stage and every breath is a gift. Cherish every moment. Most of us are more fortunate than most. I've read a passage that states “If you have food in your fridge, clothes on your back, a roof over your head, and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of the world. If you woke up this morning with more health than illness you are more blessed than the million people who will not survive this week. If you can read this message you are more fortunate than 3 billion people in the world who cannot read it at all.”

When crisis strikes it takes an even deeper toll on those who already struggle so learning to be aware and appreciative of what we do have it makes the process easier. We often tend to judge ourselves more harshly when we have no choice but to reflect but in turn, we run away from ourselves instead of being kind and accepting our needs and wants. If we work on a small task a day we can find a new level of self-love and shed the need for control. We indeed are our biggest rivals, and once we learn how to not be so desperate for a distraction we will find that staying home and learning more about ourselves is actually a beautiful gift. Do what makes sense to you. If you want to rest all day, do that. If you want to read books or sing songs, do that, but if you do anything always listen and honor what makes sense and feels good for you.
